Covered Button Class, Saturday 31st May, 10:30-12:00 at Holy Trinity Church, Winchmore Hill, N21.

Ever struggled to find the perfect matching buttons for your knitwear? Using a simple template, an ordinary button and the yarn from your garment you can achieve the perfect match. Alternatively you can experiment with different yarns to make stunning buttons to add the perfect finishing touch to any garment.

In this workshop you will learn how to make your own template for future buttons and the wrapping and weaving technique for covering a button. No special knowledge is needed for this workshop, just basic sewing skills.

DURATION - 1.5 hours total tuition

COST - £30

WHAT YOU NEED - We will provide everything you need but if you have a button you want to cover and specific yarn* you want to use then please bring it along.

*The best yarn to use is sock yarn because it is strong, a pure wool will probably fray and break, a 4-ply acrylic will work because it is strong. We should not go any thicker than 4ply because it will be too hard to weave.

LOCATION: Holy Trinity Winchmore Hill, On the Broadway of Green Lanes, Winchmore Hill, N21 3RS. Some on site parking in a small carpark behind the church, some on street parking, parking at Sainsburys Winchmore Hill. On the 329 and 125 bus route.

ENTRANCE TO THE CHURCH HALL IS ROUND THE BACK OF THE CHURCH DOWN QUEENS AVANUE.
