Happy sunny Friday! Six years of Stitch! We opened our first shop 1st May 2019, in the original Grouts haberdashery building in Green Lanes and have been running workshops and supporting our creative community ever since.

What a pleasure it continues to be, meeting new people and introducing them to and teaching new crafts. We truly appreciate everyone who continues to support our business and shares our passion for making. Thank you to all who participate and our inspirational teachers for being part of our creative journey - for taking the time to read this little newsletter, for trusting us to teach you new skills, for showing us your projects, for choosing Stitch over bigger companies. As a community business your support means the world to us.

And talking of community - a sneaky first glimpse of part of what our stitching groups and teachers have been working on (there is more!) We will be unveiling our commemorative VE Day post office topper on the post box at the Green Lanes post office this Tuesday lunchtime. 

Another great addition to our Wow Wall from Meera, fabulous detail in this crocheted blanket, the recipient of this make is very lucky indeed. Please keep telling us about your creations, we love to see them! 



If you are part of a company business you may be able to help us to spread the word in our search to run more corporate workshops. It may be that your company runs these as part of their employee wellbeing and mental health practice. Stitch can run all manner of creative workshops in sustainable sewing, crochet, knitting, sashiko, upcycling, mending and crafting. We ran an embroidery workshop for Bates Wells law firm in EC4, in their lunchbreak, with the session dually focusing on crafting and thoughts about climate change. Last year we also ran a learn to knit a beanie as part of International Mens Day. Great fun and team building had by all. These are mindful activities that draw the focus and rely on repeated actions to support a relaxed flow state. Like so many of our workshops- the tactile nature of the project and the opportunity to be creative enhances positive feelings, healing to reduce feelings of stress and loneliness, improve mood and even affect how your brain works. All things we should be encouraging in both our home and work lives.

We are pleased to be offering a new Sewing Surgery as part of Mend it May month, bring along a garment that you may want advice about or help with fixing a hole, shaping a top, adjusting a waistband or shaping trousers. We will have plenty of hand sewing equipment and some sewing machines for you to have a go at some repairs. Full details in listings below.
